I'm linking up with The Gypsy Mama for her Five Minute Friday. It's fun. This week's linky is on one of my favorite subjects. Waiting.
{That was dripping with sarcasm}
Head over there and read all the other posts that have been linked up! :)
I had written for 5 minutes earlier today. I kept re-reading that post and something just wasn't right. I couldn't hit publish for whatever reason. Then I got in my car to go to lunch and the song that had been playing when I got out of my car this morning hit me all over again. I'm kind of cheating but I'm posting a video.
Basically, waiting is easier when I believe He has my heart. That He's holding me. And He DOES have my heart. He is holding me. He IS faithful. Even when I'm not. So that thing that I've been waiting for, whatever that thing is (it changes...sometimes it's a husband, sometimes it's...other stuff, most of the time, it's a husband) becomes easier to wait when I remember that He is always faithful. Always good.
I'll close with two of my most favorite verses in the whole of Scripture.
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!" - Psalm 27:13-14
Hello, I found you through the five minute friday. I agree that the waiting is easier when we know He is there -- always there -- faithful while we wait. I loved this song and those are some of my favorite verses, too.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this song the first time I heard it...I got to see it being sung live by Gungor and I literally had tears in my eyes. Love it. I love what you wrote too...waiting does feel easier when I remember He's holding my heart. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder for me today! I love that you posted a video. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those verses!! enjoyed the video, too!!
ReplyDeleteRebekah, great point. Waiting is hard regardless, but it's so much better when we have faith in someone is waits WITH us. And I think for our generation of women in their 20s and 30s waiting for a husband is one of the most pressing and visible things that we wait for. I wrote this last year about being single and wedding.

Hope you feel encouraged as you wait!
I love this post. (And the song is awesome. I'd never heard it before.) Sometimes it's hard to remember that He is there. :)
